Business units

The Interventional segment comprises three business units:

Peripheral Intervention

Millions of people worldwide are impacted by major diseases each year, which is why Peripheral Intervention has a long history of providing medical device innovations, proven to be reliable, that are truly making a difference in patients’ lives. Our Peripheral Intervention business unit offers a comprehensive range of medical products, devices and services for the treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disease, cancer detection, and end-stage renal disease and maintenance.

Our work in Peripheral Intervention

Within this business unit, you can help us to make significant strides in future disease treatment, using your abilities to think big and innovate practical solutions to ensure these diseases affect fewer people tomorrow. Surgery

In Surgery, our products empower providers to reduce the incidence of surgical complications, improve patients’ experiences and lower the total cost of surgical care – thanks to synthetic and resorbable mesh, biologic implants and fixation systems to complement innovative surgery techniques.

Our work in Surgery

Our Surgery business unit has been evolving over the past years, with our creation of new technologies. From hemostats and sealants to surgical instruments and infection prevention devices, we are changing the surgical world to improve the outcomes of each operation. With your help, we plan to drive excellence in every corner of this industry, advancing the world of health through higher-quality products and a new standard of work.

Urology and Critical Care (UCC)

UCC is an established and trusted leader in urinary healthcare, developing complete solutions which optimize the urine drainage process in the Acute Care Hospital setting. Utilizing cost-effective and clinically-proven medical devices, we are improving the quality of patient healthcare every day, continuously looking forward.

Our work in Urology and Critical Care

Over the years, our UCC business unit has expanded into Urological Homecare with a portfolio of best in class products and technology. Our Target Temperature Management technology is leaving a lasting impact on ICU patients, giving way to a new league of medical advancements. The part you play within our UCC business unit relies on your determination to bring better patient experiences to hospitals and clinics across the region you work in. BD Interventional also includes Lutonix®, our Innovation & Design Center of Excellence, which manufactures drug coated balloon catheters that have treated over 250,000 patients worldwide.
