As General Accounting Manager you will be responsible for leading the GA COE teams responsible for specific General Accounting Processes such as:

  • Closing and Reporting

  • Revenue Recognition

  • Fixed Assets

  • Local inventory Management

  • Swiss ICO and Third Party invoice processing

You are also responsible to ensure that your Teams delivers accurate, compliant and of a high quality the month/quarter/year end closings and reportings linked to this.

You will also ensure that SOX and internal controls are embedded in the D2D operations. Controls are documented, prepared, and reviewed on a timely basis.

This position is temporary contact as a maternity cover until with a target end date in 31.03.2023.

Other Key Responsibilities:

Operational:

  • Manage the execution of the financial services assigned to their GA COE teams, in order to guarantee compliant and on time completion of US GAAP accounts and other financial reporting standards

  • Initiate, sponsor or/and participate in projects in- or outside the GA COE and/or in related system upgrades and implementations

  • Deal with ad hoc requests from various stakeholders

  • Manage & decide on the closing calendar in cooperation with consolidation team, take all due dates from all GA COE teams into account for publishing monthly closing calendar

Targets:

  • Timeliness & quality of the Closing

  • Accuracy of our Financial data in the Balance Sheet

  • Full compliancy on all activities

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Clean dashboards linked to specific GA processes (SN, MSB, Returns, ICO Swiss, 3rd party, Blackline, Topsides, …)

  • Quality & accuracy regarding Quarterly Review meetings with Local Finance

  • Accurate deliverables during audit period

Reporting & analysis:

  • Blackline

  • Closing

  • Audit

  • Performance of the Team

  • Effectiveness of the GA Processes

People Management:

  • Lead a Team of +/- 25 associates, directly and/or indirectly through the GA Team Leaders

  • Develop & coach your direct & indirect team in identified areas

  • Follow-up on development plans & career blue prints within the team & make short/long term career planning for identified talents

  • Support the team with certain process or operational issues

  • Translate the vision, mission and strategy of BD, Finance and GA COE to their team

  • Organize regular internal team meetings & 1-1’s and initiate, lead or monitor the recruitment process – Built strong & diverse teams

  • Identify and follow up on the implementation of a training curriculum to a wider team

  • Ensure business continuity and have back-up plans in place

  • Maintain the oversight on all different reviewers across GA COE and identify efficiencies & communication

Stakeholder Management:

  • Foster a close co-operation with many key stakeholders

  • Deliver / secure SLA’s

  • Share expertise & knowledge

Compliance:

  • Ensure Blackline is completed timely and with high quality

  • Ensure that SOX and internal controls are embedded in the D2D operations

  • Provide information to internal and external audit when required

  • Ensure compliancy to Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure the correct use of Blackline system & quality guidelines.

Review & follow-up on matrix & governance:

  • Ensure that ASC842 & 606 guidelines are respected and embedded in D2D operations

  • Capture updates in all global Finance Policy guides

Process & projects:

  • Realize standardization, cost efficiency and propagation of best practices, in order to guarantee and improve quality and process standards of BD’s financial services.

  • Identify process areas for improvement & discuss with the EMEA GA Leader

  • Support further centralization

  • Participate/Lead project(s)

  • Lead the Fixed Assets integration ongoing towards GA COE PL
