Job Description Summary

The Manager Commercial Excellence (MCE) is responsible for developing, promoting and facilitating the quality, the value and the impacts of strategic and operational business data and information for BDX in GSA. The MCE is managing the Commercial Excellence Team and establishes excellence in business partnering via the team members. The MCE establishes and maintains processes ensuring continuous improvement regarding sales force effectiveness and efficiency including but not limited to processes regarding pricing and profitability improvements, employee and customer bonus processes and sales force management via
The MCE is part of the Commercial Excellence Team CE reporting to the Director Commercial Excellence CE and also supports the General Manager CE with business analysis & project management in the implementation of growth initiatives, changes in Go-to-market models and all relevant decision making processes within the organization.

Job Description

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a highly motivated and high performing team and establishes appropriate change management methods for managing the team within the BD matrix complexity as well as ensuring appropriate cross business support.

  • Develops the team via establishing first class business analytics-, planning- & monitoring tools to help accelerate growth

  • Provides strategic, operational and ad hoc analysis for business development matters

  • Manages, administrates and optimizes business reporting and reviewing processes, forecasts, budget planning and monitoring and also acts as a backup where required

  • Monitors and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Cooperates with the General Manager and the BD leadership team to develop and implement best in class pricing strategies and tools to promote and achieve margin improvement targets

  • Supports sales management on sales planning, sales compensation, analytics for marketing and other relevant parts of the business to promote sales excellence and customer loyalty through suitable and effective measures and means including metrics development and management, sales results analysis, customer segmentation, targeting and coaching projects;

  • Manages and surveys the implementation, efficiency and compliance of “” cross Business units for the assigned region

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in people management

  • Strong academic record with ideally a master degree or equivalent in economics, business economics, finance;

  • Experience of financial principles (P&L management, pricing, budgeting, analytics);

  • Experience with sales force effectiveness;

  • Strong finance and project management background;

  • Excellent presentation and presentation preparation skills;

  • Informal influencing and management skills, managerial courage;

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Advanced excel skills

  • Capable of working well autonomously and via teams, partially with teams in remote locations;

  • Demonstrates a high degree of self-motivation, target orientation  and a drive to achieve results combined with strong commercial and financial understanding;

  • Fluency in English & German (spoken and written) other language skills are an advantage;
