The position provides direct leadership to the IDS team including dedicated sales, marketing and support associates. The position sits at the center of BD's matrix organization and requires close collaboration with and coordination between the IDS businesses as well as geographically located functions.

Role:

The position is accountable for the IDS Strategy development of the respective geography.

It holds full accountability for the P&L, and for the performance on the Sales & OIBT. The position provides direct leadership to the IDS  team including dedicated sales, marketing and support associates. The position sits at the center of BD's matrix organization and requires close collaboration with and coordination between the IDS businesses as well as geographically located functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and leads all aspects of business strategy for assigned markets to ensure the achievement of financial/budget expectations.
  • Engages the organization around the vision and objectives.
  • Leads the development and the implementation of go-to-market plans and ensure effective leverage of resources and capabilities.
  • Leads development of marketing plans including IDS value preposition development, product portfolio management, launching new products and registration process.
  • Owns financial business processes including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Proactively monitors the financial performance of the business and any deviations from critical project plans. Ensures implementation of any necessary contingency plans and/or corrective actions to effectively mitigate risks.
  • Understands and anticipates external environment trends. Factors that into the strategy and execution plans.
  • Engage with the external stakeholders, healthcare providers and decision makers to ensure BD understanding of the healthcare agenda and building partnership. Builds understanding and gain acceptance of the BD Life Science value proposition among BD partners.
  • Recruits, motivates and develops talents within the Life Science organization in order to advance the bench strength of the business.
  • Further develops the organizational capabilities in order to meet challenging business targets, embrace change, new initiatives and to be ready for future challenges.
  • Proactively contribute to strategic innovation

Requirements/Qualifications:

Business Acumen

•Demonstrates the ability to integrate an understanding of sound business and financial fundamentals with in-depth knowledge of our market and industry.

•Will have more than 5 years of sales, marketing and business management experience including at least 3 years with full P&L accountability

•Will have a track record of success in the Health Science market and / or preferably in the diagnostics field, built on an extensive network of KOL and scientific societies

•Has strong business ethics.
