About the role

The Compliance organization helps BD to improve its anti-corruption process and controls, as “We do what is right”. The Compliance organization works with worldwide BD leaders to support, among other matters, the roll out and ongoing implementation of the following enhanced processes:

  • 3rd Party Due Diligence

  • Anti-corruption Training and Communication

  • Anti-corruption Standards (Rules of the Road)

  • HCC / HCO Relationships

  • Grants

You will lead implementation and ongoing management of the local/regional anti-corruption program, partnering with local/regional management to provide mentorship on compliance matters and solutions to help address needed remediation. You will demonstrate strong communication skills both written and verbal. The role requires a self-starter who is driven, can lead by example and can prioritize multiple priorities. You will report to Compliance Senior Director for EMEA.

Other Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with regional/local country management through participation in regional/local governance committee

  • Drive consistency in compliance decision making and policy interpretation regionally/locally

  • Advise regional/local management on compliance related activities

  • Oversee and provide mentorship to distributor managers on compliance topics (e.g., 3rd party due diligence & training)

  • Foster an efficient and effective due diligence process to support business needs

  • 3rd Party Due Diligence - Assists potential 3rd parties in completing the online due diligence questionnaire. Reviews the questionnaire for completeness, accuracy, and quality of responses

  • Training and Communication - Provides training on anti-corruption topics to new hires, existing associates and 3rd parties

  • Monitoring - Works with Compliance Senior Director to build a regional compliance monitoring program. Executes the compliance monitoring plan governance -Communicates compliance issues to local committee and Global Compliance/Senior Leader

  • Supports internal audit when they perform audits within each region

  • HCP / HCO Relationships - Reviews / approves all HCP contracts. Works on implementation of new BD systems regulating HCP / HCO interactions.

  • Grants -Supports local Grants Committees in actions on all grant requests. Supports local implementation of BD system for processing grants

About You

  • University degree; Advanced degree a plus

  • Approximately 5 to 10 years of work experience, business process functions, such as internal audit, SOX organization, etc., ideally with some type of compliance and business process experience

  • Understanding of efficient business processes

  • Proficiency in English (oral and written); fluency with other languages widely spoken in Africa a plus

  • Ability to optimally partner and collaborate across business functions

  • Strong ability to influence without authority and to get results

  • Experience in working independently, and as part of team, to resolve complex matters

  • Strong analytical and project management skills

  • Excellent written, verbal communication, analytical, organization and critical thinking skills

  • Experience working in a global environment
