About the role
In this newly created position based in Pharmaceutical Systems’ global headquarter in Pont-de-Claix, France, you will lead as the single-point-of-contact for supplier-related strategies, problems and escalations, and opportunities.
You will represent Supplier Management within the Pharmaceutical Systems Operations Leadership team and will be responsible for Supplier Management activities for direct material purchase across Pharmaceutical Systems plants, platforms, and sites.
You will report to the VP of Operations for Pharmaceutical Systems and will manage seven category leaders and one process leader.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Developing an overall supplier management strategy to support the business and operational strategies of Pharmaceutical Systems. Linking category strategies to overall supplier management strategy and overall Operations Strategy. Incorporating assurance of supply, cost, quality, and supply-base innovation opportunities and practices into a cohesive, integrated strategy.
Ensuring proper staffing and oversight of Supplier Management function, ensuring sufficient capabilities and skills to support the objectives of the group. Provide coaching and management, ensuring individual development and growth.
Establishing a standard operating model (aligned w/BDX procurement) for supplier management activities including supplier performance management, crisis management, and project management. Also, ensuring clear linkage and communication with Pharm Systems plants, operations functions, quality, platform teams, and BDX functions, including Global Supply Chain, Procurement, and Quality.
Ensuring compliance with all quality and regulatory policies and standards, external and internal.
To deliver the performance that we are looking for, we need a degree-level educated professional (Bachelor or higher), ideally in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement and/or Quality. You benefit from a strong industry supply base knowledge, including preferably plastics, glass, and/or contract manufacturing.
A demonstrated leader, you can remove obstacles and empower others, debate and decide, then commit & go. You are able to create a strategy and to share a vision. You are experienced in working in a highly matrixed, geographically distributed global organization.

- Supply chain, procurement, and operations knowledge
- Continuous improvement methodologies : lean, 6sigma
- Ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills
- Quantitative and financial analysis skills
- Contract management and negotiation skills
- Ability to develop and grow team members
- Fluency in English is required for the role. French and/or Spanish would be a plus.
Experience of Medical Devices would be a plus but we are open to candidates coming from other industries with a strong focus on plastics and rubber such as automotive, cosmetics, FMCG…
