BD RCI wish to hire an Electronics Engineer with a number of years of experience working on PCB and system level design. The right candidate will be required to develop and design complex printed circuit boards, from key component selection, schematic entry right through to multilayer board layout.
The Successful Candidate will meet the following requirements:
has a thorough understanding of analogue, digital and mixed-signal electronics,
has hands-on practical experience of board level electronic system design including:
selection and evaluation of key integrated circuit components for new designs,
prototyping using evaluation boards and development systems,
printed circuit board design including schematic entry and printed circuit board layout,
bill of materials management,
working with PCB and board assembly suppliers,
board level test development and execution.
Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
analogue systems, including sensors, op-amps, low voltage circuits, etc.
embedded microcontroller system design, for example STM32 MCU family or similar,
programmable logic including FPGAs,
board level dc/dc converters and related power supply circuits,
Altium Designer,
communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB,
embedded C programming,
design for ESD and EMI immunity.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level with a minimum level 8 engineering degree and have a minimum 3 years’ experience working at printed circuit board and system level electronics design, They will have a ‘can do’ approach to electronic systems design and development and will be self-motivated and show an ability to quickly learn and develop new skills as well as critically evaluate and solve technical problems. A broad-based interest and aptitude for science-related topics is essential. Good communication skills are vital, with an emphasis on clear concise technical writing ability.
The position involves working in a close-knit team environment developing important new medical products. It requires confident, active participation, from initial concept design right through to hand-off to factory production. It involves working effectively with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical design and system engineering.
Experience in the medical device area would be an advantage.
