Research Centre Ireland (RCI)
Our Research Centre Ireland is a new, state-of-the-art facility adjacent to the University of Limerick. We provide a comprehensive portfolio of integrated hardware, software, and technology-based services in support of BD’s Medical, Lifesciences and Interventional segments worldwide.
As Senior Electronic Engineer you will provide high quality solutions across a range of challenging problems, and contribute to the completion of specific design projects. You’ll be part of an innovate team and work across new and existing product development efforts from concepts through to implementation!
In this role you will be responsible for:
Driving circuit level hardware design phases including architecture and design, component selection, schematic entry, board bring-up and integration of complex printed circuit board and cable assemblies into systems/instruments.
Interfacing hardware peripherals like sensors and motor drivers.
Generating design specifications, test protocols, testing execution and reporting.
Participating in technical design reviews.
Evaluating and implementing designs to ensure that all agency requirements (UL,IEC, FDA) are being met throughout the design process.
To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
A Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
At least five years’ experience designing and testing analog and digital circuitry on complex printed circuit board assembly.
Ideally your background will also include microprocessors, a theoretical analysis and board simulation.
Experience with building blocks for modular systems.
