About the role
Reporting to the Facilities Team Leader, operates, maintains, reviews and records results of all Plant facilities and services included within the Buildings and the grounds of a twenty seven acre manufacturing site.
Ensures that works meet Health, Safety and Environmental standards in compliance with statutory, regulatory, company and plant requirements.

Job Description

Main responsibilities will include:

• Provides technical facility support in the installation, modification, repair and preventative maintenance of all Plant services and facilities and utilities.
• Ensures that all Plant equipment and services are operated and maintained safely in compliance with appropriate technical guidelines.
• Keeps abreast of all Health and Environmental legislation and performs work accordingly to ensure compliance.
• Is mindful of safety of self and others. Takes relevant safety precautions, wears appropriate personal protective equipment and maintains tools and appliances in safe working order. Reports safety hazards to Team Leader. Serves on Emergency Team.
• Minimises downtime caused through failure in services and equipment. Responds to call-outs and takes emergency action to ensure minimal interruption.
• Keeps Team Leader informed of all activities, maintains records and suggests improvements to processes and equipment.
• Maintains awareness of need for good housekeeping throughout site. By own activities ensure the highest levels of neatness to further enhance the site and its environment.
• Due to the nature of the role needs to be flexible outside of normal working hours.

About you

The successful candidate will have C&G or Tech II in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field or equivalent NVQ.

You will have experience working with HVAC systems, water pumps, and water distribution ideally in manufacturing settings. Working with vacuum pumps and compressors would be beneficial. You will have a flexible, can-do demeanour with the ability to work independently and as part of the team. You will have good communication skills, be approachable with excellent problem-solving skills.
