About the role
We have an exciting newly created opportunity for an Import & Export Coordinator to take responsibility for the creation of processes and procedures for imports and exports for BD Swindon in accordance with current post Brexit requirements and legislation.
Once procedures are in place you will ensure that all import and export procedures are followed and up to date with local regulations.
If you have a good understanding of: HMRC rules, The Customs (Import Duty) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 and Taxation (Post-transition Period) Act 2020 we would love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities will include:
Coordination of import/export logistics and customs clearance process as per procedures.
To be the main point of contact for I&E and maintaining knowledge of and advising on all relevant import/export law and procedures, tariffs and duties, licenses and restrictions
Working internally with Supply Chain Planning, Warehouse and Engineering teams to ensure materials, small parcels, machinery and spare parts leaving and arriving on site are compliant.
Lease with, customers, suppliers, necessary agents and customs authorities to address any issues/questions arising from business activities.
Verify that documents for import/ export customs purposes are compliant and correct and maintain import & export declaration documentation
Check HS code with global/regional trade compliance/local broker team for new items and update with broker, planners and Master Data team
About you
The successful candidate will have exposure to Brexit planning and procedures, experience in a supply chain/logistics environment with a focus on import, customs clearance and export processes. You will also have background knowledge of shipping regulations and policies.
You will be highly organised and be able to prioritise and multi-task, have excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, be IT literate and be able to operate and navigate multiple systems including learning new software.
